on the surface, everything seems so
colorful and vibrant, almost like summer tones
but i know the truth
fragile bones, weak mind and poor choices
white skin, red lips, dark secrets
you're so good at wearing that disguise
you creep into my veins
like spiders into the house during cold spells
yet there is no denying the intensity
that i feel when you're beside me
i'm caught off guard, but it's okay
can we pretend for another day or two?
i can't face the truth just yet
velvet skin, perfect skin, broken skin
i trace your lips with my finger and you shiver
you open up like a summer flower
i fall down like autumn leaves
as i hold you closer and i can feel you melt
there's no place else i'd rather be
please don't think i'll ever leave you
